About the role

You will join Sekoia Q-Lab to develop hardware-aware algorithms, design benchmark programmes, and translate emerging quantum capability into credible client roadmaps. The work spans mathematical research, scientific software, and close collaboration with domain teams.

What you will do

  • Develop and benchmark variational, optimisation, simulation, and error-mitigation methods.
  • Build reproducible experiments across simulators and available quantum hardware.
  • Co-design problem formulations with specialists in energy, materials, finance, and logistics.
  • Publish technical reports and contribute to Sekoia’s research software.

What you bring

  • PhD or equivalent research experience in quantum computing, physics, mathematics, or computer science.
  • Strong Python and scientific-computing skills.
  • Working knowledge of quantum algorithms, linear algebra, optimisation, and noise models.
  • Evidence of clear technical writing and collaborative research.

Helpful, not required

  • Experience with Qiskit, PennyLane, Cirq, or CUDA-Q.
  • Industrial optimisation or quantum chemistry experience.
  • Research software engineering experience.

How we hire

Our process typically includes a 30-minute introduction, a technical or role-focused conversation, a practical discussion based on real work, and a final conversation with Sekoia leadership. We do not use unpaid take-home assignments.
